4 months agoHello, The purchase history on my iPhone shows the install date as Christmas Eve 2022. I have no idea how this app got on my phone, as I was celebrating at my in-laws house that was full of people enjoying visiting. I haven't travelled out of country in 5 years, so no need to have the app. When I did travel, I used Google Translate. Then, mysteriously over 7 months later, the history shows a 99 cent charge, and then a week later, it began billing me $9.99 on a weekly basis. I didn't notice the charge because it only showed up as "Apple" on our account, and whenever I saw it I guess I just thought it was our AppleTV+ charge since it is the same price. This will teach me to monitor my accounts much more closely! Anyway, I am now out around $700 minus the forty some dollars that Apple says they can reimburse me. I'm pretty upset, mainly because ... 1) I don't have any recollection of ever installing this thing (why would I on Christmas Eve)!?!? 2) I have no memory of every ordering the $.99 version, and certainly not the $9.99 weekly plan!!! 3) Apple didn't offer any explanation or help other than the small reimbursement. 4) I didn't catch the charges any sooner. 5) I have little hope of ever getting my money back for an app I never used or knew was on my phone. I found an email address for MATdev so I guess I will reach out, but doubt they'll claim any responsibility. i just have no idea how this happened. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. -Darin
