Things to note before removing Muni:

  1. The developer of Muni is SFMTA and all inquiries must go to them.
  2. The GDPR gives EU and UK residents a "right to erasure" meaning that you can request app developers like SFMTA to delete all your data it holds. SFMTA must comply within 1 month.
  3. The CCPA lets American residents request that SFMTA deletes your data or risk incurring a fine (upto $7,500 dollars).

Deleting from Smartphone 📱


Delete on iPhone:


  1. On your homescreen, Tap and hold MuniMobile until it starts shaking.
  2. Once it starts to shake, you'll see an X Mark at the top of the app icon.
  3. Click on that X to delete the MuniMobile app.

Delete on Android:


  1. Open your GooglePlay app and goto the menu.
  2. Click "My Apps and Games" » then "Installed".
  3. Choose MuniMobile, » then click "Uninstall".

1. • In the subway, activate (“use”) your purchased mobile ticket before passing through metro station fare gates.

2. Show your active ticket to the station agent, and pass through the fare gate closest to the station agent booth.

3. Your tickets are stored on your phone (which makes it possible to use them without a cellular network or a wireless Internet connection).

4. If you feel more comfortable boarding through the front door to show your ticket to the transit operator, please feel free to do so.

5. If the station agent is not present, you may still pass through the gate as long as your ticket has been activated.

7. • On the surface, use your purchased mobile ticket before boarding the vehicle.
