Things to note before removing ShakeAlertLA:

  1. The developer of ShakeAlertLA is City of Los Angeles and all inquiries must go to them.
  2. Check the Terms of Services and/or Privacy policy of City of Los Angeles to know if they support self-serve account deletion:
  3. The GDPR gives EU and UK residents a "right to erasure" meaning that you can request app developers like City of Los Angeles to delete all your data it holds. City of Los Angeles must comply within 1 month.
  4. The CCPA lets American residents request that City of Los Angeles deletes your data or risk incurring a fine (upto $7,500 dollars).

Deleting from Smartphone 📱


Delete on iPhone:


  1. On your homescreen, Tap and hold ShakeAlertLA until it starts shaking.
  2. Once it starts to shake, you'll see an X Mark at the top of the app icon.
  3. Click on that X to delete the ShakeAlertLA app.

Delete on Android:


  1. Open your GooglePlay app and goto the menu.
  2. Click "My Apps and Games" » then "Installed".
  3. Choose ShakeAlertLA, » then click "Uninstall".

1. This app is brought to you by Mayor Eric Garcetti and the City of Los Angeles, and built on the ShakeAlert system developed by the U.S. Geological Survey.

2. You can also use this app to prepare for an earthquake, get details on recent earthquakes, and find help after an earthquake.

3. The "Recent earthquakes" screen now displays earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 and above in the past 30 days for the continental United States.

4. ShakeAlertLA alerts you that an earthquake has been detected and that you may soon feel shaking.

5. Version 1.1 adds a new feature based on feedback from the ShakeAlertLA community.
