🎌 About Freerice

1. The amount of money generated when you see an ad can vary, but overall, money raised on Freerice each day from every right answer is roughly equivalent to what the UN World Food Programme spends to purchase 5 grains of rice.

2. But regardless of the type of assistance, you can be sure that 100% of all funds generated on Freerice go to the World Food Programme, and 93.5% of every payment received by the World Food Programme goes directly to helping children and their families.

3. With dozens of categories — from English vocabulary to famous paintings — you can quiz yourself on your favourite subject, and generate money to support the World Food Programme at the same time.

4. When you see one of these ads (if it is a commercial ad and you are eligible to see it), you trigger a financial payment to the UN World Food Programme (WFP) to support its work saving and changing lives around the world.

5. This money is used for many types of assistance — not just rice — depending on where needs are greatest.

6. Freerice does not earn or keep any money it raises.

7. Freerice is the fun and educational trivia game that lets you make a difference and get smarter — just by playing.

8. By playing, you are generating the money that pays for this rice.

9. Here's how it works: as you play Freerice and answer questions right, ads appear on your screen.

10. In the game, these payments are represented via grains of rice.
