Things to note before removing MyWorldWeather:

  1. The developer of MyWorldWeather is Hong Kong Observatory and all inquiries must go to them.
  2. The GDPR gives EU and UK residents a "right to erasure" meaning that you can request app developers like Hong Kong Observatory to delete all your data it holds. Hong Kong Observatory must comply within 1 month.
  3. The CCPA lets American residents request that Hong Kong Observatory deletes your data or risk incurring a fine (upto $7,500 dollars).

Deleting from Smartphone 📱


Delete on iPhone:


  1. On your homescreen, Tap and hold MyWorldWeather until it starts shaking.
  2. Once it starts to shake, you'll see an X Mark at the top of the app icon.
  3. Click on that X to delete the MyWorldWeather app.

Delete on Android:


  1. Open your GooglePlay app and goto the menu.
  2. Click "My Apps and Games" » then "Installed".
  3. Choose MyWorldWeather, » then click "Uninstall".

1. The World Weather Information Service (WWIS) website is the first and the only one global website presenting OFFICIAL weather observations, weather forecasts and climatological information for selected cities provided by National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) worldwide.WWIS aims to provide authoritative and reliable weather information of NMHSs around the world to all internet users and media.The WWIS website was developed and maintained by the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) on behalf of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

2. By March 2017, WWIS provided official weather information for 2123 cities in which 1997 cities are available with forecast from 135 members while 1961 cities are available with climatological information from 169 members.

3. 'MyWorldWeather' is a mobile version of the WWIS developed for iOS platform.It is equipped with location-based technology to detect the location where the user is located and to provide users with official city weather forecast automatically.
